Boston Globe Recognizes On the Run Operator as a Top Employer
VERC Enterprises was honored this fall by the Boston Globe, recognized as a recipient of the newspaper’s 2011 Top Places to Work in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The top 100 companies, whose awards were based on employee surveys, were honored at a November 3rd event in Boston. VERC, based in Duxbury, MA, operates 24 Mobil/Gulf locations in the area.
Leo Vercollone, President of VERC, operates the On the Run store in Fitchburg, MA, taking over the store operations in late July of this year. “We’re honored to be a recipient of this prestigious award from the Boston Globe and proud that we have created the type of working environment that is worthy of our being named a best place to work,” said Vercollone.
Micah Smith, Franchise Business Consultant for the store said, “Since VERC Enterprises joined the On the Run Franchise system, their store has made great strides driving traffic to the site and improving sales.” He added, “We are very pleased to have VERC associated with On the Run.”
This is the third time in 2011 VERC has been recognized as a leading employer in the region. The Boston Business Journal bestowed two awards onthe company earlier this year, honoring VERC as a Leader in Diversity for its hiring practices, and as a “Best Place to Work.”
